The detector includes an integrated RF module, which thanks to the CONNECTED function allows you to wirelessly link two or more FireSAFE detectors and thus create an interconnected wireless network. In such a case, if one of the devices triggers an alarm, it will send a radio signal and all other FireSAFE units connected in the network will also respond to the alarm.

A smart central control unit Hub FireSAFE can be added to the wireless network. These units then enable convenient configuration and control of the complex FireSAFE system even remotely thanks to internet connection, using an intuitive free mobile app of the same name (for Android and iOS) designed for smartphones, tablets and others. The Hub monitors the activity of all connected FireSAFE CONNECTED sensors and devices, and in case of detecting danger, it immediately informs the system user in the form of an alarm and alarm push notifications in the FireSAFE app.

If the CO concentration reaches a certain set threshold during detection, the detector activates a loud acoustic alarm signal of 85 dB, accompanied by a flashing red LED indicator signaling a carbon monoxide alarm, while the currently measured CO concentration will be displayed on the blue backlit display of the detector. This is a targeted effort to gain the attention of people in the building through high noise levels and intense LED signaling that a potential danger is arising in some part of the premises. The purpose of the CO alarm is then an immediate response to the alarm event or the movement of people from the scene of the emergency to a safe zone.

The backlit multifunctional LCD display shows the currently measured CO concentration expressed in ppm units in alarm mode, while in standby mode it alternately displays the current ambient temperature and humidity information in the monitored area, enabling a response to dangerously low or conversely high humidity or temperature environmental conditions. The temperature level display can be set based on preferences in degrees Celsius (°C) or Fahrenheit (°F).

In case the detector is part of a fire safety system with an intelligent central control unit Hub FireSAFE, individual data (battery status, room temperature and air humidity, CO alarm information) are also displayed in the free FireSafe mobile application on your mobile phone or device.

The combination of battery power and the detector housing construction allows installation by placing the device in an optimal position on a horizontal surface. As a result, a fixed wall installation of the carbon monoxide detector is not required, but it can be variably and freely placed (stood) on horizontal surfaces such as shelves, bedside tables, window sills or other flat surfaces. The electronic components and the printed circuit board of the detector are coated with an insulating and protective lacquer layer with IZOVAX nanoparticles protecting the device electronics even in very humid environments. The device can therefore be placed or installed, for example, in bathrooms with a water heater, gas boiler, boiler rooms, drying rooms and the like.

The SAFE 10YDCO – RF carbon monoxide detector features a peak value memory function. The memory records information about the highest measured CO concentration even during your absence. By pressing the combined TEST/SILENCE button, you can retrieve and display this information on the LCD display, relating to the highest measured value levels since the last memory reset.

If the detector detects a threshold level of carbon monoxide concentration, it will trigger a warning signal to activate the alarm. In case of unwanted acoustic alarm signaling, this can be temporarily silenced by pressing the TEST/SILENCE button or directly in the FireSAFE application (if the detector is added to a wireless network that includes the FireSAFE intelligent central control unit Hub) for up to 9 minutes. The temporary silence mode is signaled by the device with a red LED indicator, which flashes 4 times every 5 seconds in a regularly repeating interval without accompanying acoustic signaling from the buzzer. If the CO concentration subsequently drops below the preset value, the detector automatically switches to normal operating mode.

Power is provided by an integrated 3V lithium battery (built-in, non-replaceable) guaranteeing an exceptionally long detector operation of more than 10 years. Battery operation enables quick and easy installation and ensures proper functioning of the carbon monoxide detector for more than 10 years from activation. The battery is activated by pulling out the blocking clip on the back of the device. After 10 years of protection, with a 30-day advance notice, the detector will announce the end of its service life and automatically alert you that it needs to be replaced. The extended 10-year warranty covers both the battery and the device itself.
